Fabulous Florida

Last night we returned home after spending about a week in Florida. Joaqo got to meet his Grandpa (we call him, "BoomPa") and Uncle Albert. It was a really nice time. The plane rides were all without incident and Little Man received many compliments regarding his behavior and stellar good looks. We also discovered on the planes and in the airport that his is a bit of a flirt. He gave big smiles to all the female flight attendants. And while we were waiting to board Joaqo spotted a cute little girl (no more than 2 years old) and made a bee line towards her when we put him down on the floor :-)

Our time with BoomPa and Uncle Albert was fun. Joaqo fell asleep in his Grandpa's arms the first day and climbed up the stairs a few times w Tio Alberto. He got to eat steak and salmon along with some Spanish and Vietnamese cuisine. We went bowling, saw The Dark Knight, swam and played Guitar Hero 3 & Scattergories - good times :-)

Here are some pics - have a great week!

Little B's Got A New Doo!!!

This week we experimented with some of Ryan's hair styling product and came up with a new look for Joaqo. This comes just in time for our upcoming trip to FL and the arrival of his new teeth!!! Strangely though, his new teeth are not the 2 upper middle ones (incisors) that I was expecting... They are the 2 upper teeth on the sides of the incisors - his canines. So I can't help thinking of him as Fangz Hintz :-) We may have a little vampire for Halloween.
Last week we said farewell to a member of our family - Cleocatra (making her final appearance in the video below.) She was a good kitty but wasn't very tolerant of Little Man's desires to pull fistfulls of her fur out - meow!!! She scratched his face the last time he tried it so Ryan found her a lovely new home with a very nice animal loving couple and we dropped her off last week. So now it's just Mama and her B, D and C. Thor doesn't seem to miss Cleo as he's getting a lot more attention. And his tolerance for Joaqo is still amazing.
This week we are going to FL where Little Man will get to meet his BoomPa and Uncle Albert. (Every time I say "Uncle Albert" that Beatles' song begins to play in my head.) I wonder what Joaqo will think about the beach...
As always Joaquin is amazing. He is talking up a storm enjoying the sounds of his voice. He likes climbing up the stairs - can't get down on his own, though ;-) He's figured out he can take things with him when he crawls. Yesterday he decided to climb the stairs (w my supervision of course) and bring his big, plastic maraca with him. It was so cute - he'd throw the maraca to the step above him and climb up to it, throw it up and climb up... quite a feat for a little dude with 8 steps in front of him. At the final step his maraca fell - thump, thump, thump, thump all the way back down the stairs :-( Not to worry though, it was Mommy to the rescue and all was well with the world again :-)

Monday, Monday...

What a nice 3 day weekend!! Friday was spent with Grandma and Grandpa Kelley. There were plenty of fireworks to see on the drive home and standing on our balcony we could see Tucson's East side display - very pretty :-)
Saturday night we went to the drive-in movies. It rained and was pretty humid but the 3 of us survived and Little Man was rather tolerant of the entire event.
Sunday we went out to eat at Chuy's where Joaqo sat in a high chair. He was quite pleased with the whole arrangement - the only time he fussed was to get us to feed him more chicken and pork.
Oh yeah, Thursday night we made Grandma Hintz's Chicken Supreme (creamy chicken and noodles.) Little Man absolutely loves it and likes to slurp down the noodles - he's sooooo cute :-)
Hope everyone is having a nice Monday :-)

We have more pictures that we will get up shortly, but I thought you might like to see a video of Joaqo.
