April Catch Up
As you might guess a lot has been going on the past couple of months. Here are a few highlights:
In March the family took a trip to New Orleans as Ryan had to attend a conference there. It was a lot of fun. We got to hang out with Uncle J - Joaqo really liked playing at his gym. The French Quarter was fantastic. Joaqo never got tired just being pushed around in his stroller as there was so much to see. He was the center of attention in the area outside of St Louis Cathedral one day as he danced (with his monkey) to some jazz performed by some street musicians. He developed a taste for seafood gumbo and sampled it at practically every restaurant we went to. The aquarium was magical for him and he was in awe of all the fish. And by the time we left he was actually starting to eat the beignets at Cafe DuMonde rather than just shoving handfuls of powdered sugar in his mouth. Here are some pics of New Orleans...

We took Joaqo to the Botanical Gardens in Tucson for their butterfly exhibit a few weeks ago. He really liked the butterflies, but I think he liked picking the flowers more :-)

Easter was a beautiful day. Joaqo found all of the eggs the Easter Bunny left and enjoyed all the presents the Easter Bunnies sent to him. Thanks, everyone!!!

Joaqo turned 18 months a couple of days ago. It is amazing at how quickly the time has passed and how much he has grown. He now says "mama," "dada," "grandma," "grandpa," "cheese," & "all done." Even though he doesn't say too much it is really clear that he understands what we tell him. He loves to watch the humming birds come to their feeders and holds his finger to his mouth to say "shhh" when they are there. He loves to water the plants at Grandma and Grandpa Kelley's. He loves to wear different hats and shoes. He loves to dance - even in the grocery store cart this week I caught him bopping his head to some old forgotten 80's pop song I used to love. He loves our cat, Thor and kisses him every morning. He is just the sweetest, happiest little man we could ask for :-)
