Grandma Hintz's Visit

August has been flying by - let me try to catch everyone up...
Grandma Hintz came for a visit the first week in August. We all had a very nice time. She and Joaquin played all the time. They went for walks in the morning and then played all afternoon - I know he loved it. It was fun to watch his expression in the morning when he first saw his Grandma - his face lit up more than usual and he got really excited. In addition to getting a new playmate, he also was also introduced to goldfish crackers. He LOVES those. (Oh yeah - in case I haven't mentioned this before Little Man now has all 4 of his top front teeth. He looks so cute and really digs crunching :-))
One night we all went to Pollo Feliz, ("Happy Chicken" in Spanish;)Ryan's favorite chicken place. Then afterward we went to Reid Park. As we'd never been there before it was quite a nice discovery. It's very big with lots of older trees and 2 ponds with ducks. We took a nice long stroll to check it out and then went out for 45 calorie per 5 oz frozen yogurt :-)
On another night Grandma Hintz and I took Joaqo to Chick-fil-A for family night. In his kiddie meal he got some chicken nuggets, french fries and a juice box. We were both very impressed when Little Man sucked that apple juice out of the box. We were a little less impressed (but very entertained) when he proceeded to spit the juice out.
The last night my mom & John came over for dinner. Joaquin had had very little sleep that day so he was on his 4th wind and was very entertaining. He played basketball and fetch, climbed the stairs several times making sure we were all watching - he just really hammed it up. And we all bought into it - he was making us laugh so hard.
Grandma Hintz's visit went by way too quickly, but we only have to wait a few more weeks until we see her and Grandpa Hintz again for Joaquin's 1st birthday.
